This is the smallest light that Surefire makes. It is a great tool that slips easily into a pocket and can be forgotten until you need it. And when you do need a light you'll be glad you have one.

I bought this light because I got it new for about $60 and wanted to add it to my collection. It makes a nice backup light or primary when you want the smallest package with a descent output. Oh and these little things are built like a tank just like all Surefires.

If you find one at a good price pick it up. However, for $80 I think you'll be better served by one of their newer models. There is a LED version for a few more dollars. Or check out the E1B Backup. These other lights are a little longer but worth it for higher light output and/or increased run time. That is unless you want the smallest Surefire or prefer incandescent light.

The lower light output can be a good thing if you are working on something up close. It won't be as blinding. Still the E1B is just more versatile. It has both 80 and 5 lumen settings. The 5 lumens from the E1B looks to me as bright as the 15 lumen E1e.

When all is said and done if you turn this thing on in a dark room (or even outdoors in the dark) I am confident you will be amazed at the amount of light coming from this tiny package; especially in a room with light-colored walls

You get what you pay for and flashlights are no exception. Surefire lights are expensive but every time I use one I remember this phrase and know I got my money's worth.

The E1e is the light on the far right.
